Sacred Things

Illustrated Zine
Page 1
Sacred Things: Prayers and Rituals for Connecting with the Material World’ is an illustrated zine that is a collection of everyday objects that take on significance in our lives. In particular, stories of queer people are marked by the need for belonging and the celebration of selves in safe ways – oftentimes in private habits and personal symbols of resistance.
Choosing objects that are very much part of the material world we live in, this zine treats these treasured things as sacred and potentially integral parts of our identities. This collection of prayers and rituals is meant to be a starter kit for exploring the world we live in. Many of us trying to live queer and expansive lives have given up practices we were guided by in childhood because they no longer serve - and sometimes harmed us.
